Bramley Apples - The Cook's Choice

2007 Brammy Awards Announced

It doesn’t take long to rustle up a beautiful Bramley apple pie or crumble but if you want a ready-made product full of the very best apple taste you should check out the recommendations of this year’s Brammy judges.

Each year an expert panel has the enviable task of devouring every Bramley apple product available in supermarkets so excellent products can be rewarded with a prestigious Brammy Award.

Bramley apples are Britain’s favourite cooking apple, renowned for their superior culinary properties, unrivalled taste and texture. The essential ingredient in classic home-cooked apple pie, Bramley is also delicious in products bought from the supermarket.

Chairman of the Bramley Campaign, Adrian Barlow, said: “Bramley apples are the best apples for cooking because they retain their flavour and develop a wonderfully light and moist consistency when cooked. They deliver superb quality in each and every product that uses them, and are certainly unrivalled by any other apple. The Brammy Awards are our opportunity to celebrate the very best Bramley products.”

For the first time this year, the winner of the Best Family Bramley Apple Pie category was chosen by consumers via an online vote on the Bramley website, bramleyapples.co.uk. With almost half the votes, Marks & Spencer’s Puff Pastry Bramley Apple Pie claimed the prestigious trophy.

So look out for the Brammy logo on pack, and you’ll be sure to get a tasty treat, made with real British Bramley apples.
